It's a Beautiful Day at Purple Onion Designs!!

As promised, today there is a new Stacey Yacula “Beautiful Day” release over at Purple Onion Designs!  This new collection won’t disappoint!!!  There are lots of new critter stamps and a whole bunch of background and accessory stamps.  The best part is that they perfectly coordinate with all of Stacey’s other releases.

For my card today, I used the new banner stamp as my backdrop and paired it with two of the new cute critters and the large Blueberry the bear (middle) from the last collection. I just cannot get enough of these guys!  I used some outdoorsy type papers and added some baker's twine to the top of the banner for some interest.

Be sure to come by again soon for more of the projects I made with this new collection and of course there are lots of other projects on the POD blog and the other Design Team’s blogs (you can find links to every one's blogs on the POD blog.

Cheers and hope to see you soon!

Hippity Hoppity Easter's on it's way!

Hi friends!  I recently sat down and made a bunch of Spring/Easter cards and figured I better share them before the end of the week!!

First up is a card I created using this cute Easter egg image.  I coloured with spring tones and then added some white gel pen accents.  The kraft background was embossed and then I lightly went over it with white pigment ink to get the embossed surface to stand out.

Papers: WRMK, Neenah white cardstock
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black, white pigment ink

Thinking of you, a Foxy Birthday and a challenge with prizes!!

Hello and Happy Sunday!  First things first....Purple Onion Designs is having a little challenge over on the blog.  All you have to do is create a birthday card using some POD stamps, share it and link it up on the blog post.  You can find all the details here and there are even some great samples from the design team.

I have a ton of projects to share with you that I created a while ago but just haven't found the time to blog. So here we go......

Here are a few projects I did using my Purple Onion Designs stamps.  By the way, if you haven't stopped by the store lately, Michele did a web site makeover and it looks fabulous!  I am now able to link you directly to the POD sets!

First up is a heat embossed card I made on some kraft paper.  I heat embossed my flower image in white embossing ink and then coloured with my Copics.  When you are colouring on kraft paper with Copic market you get all kinds of neat variations in colours.  I find the darker tones work best but the lighter colours give a water coloured look.  The design of the card is quite simple with the image taking center stage and I added some distress ink around the panel to give it some dimension.

Supplies:
Stamps: Stephanie Ackerman Bouquet and Containers set from Purple Onion Designs, SA Doodle Frame Flower set from Purple Onion Designs
Ink: Versamark (for heat embossing), brown distress ink
Papers: Gina K kraft cardstock, My Mind's Eye papers
Accessories: WOW! white embossing powder, Copic Markers, Mama Elephant die cuts

Next up is a masculine card I did using one of my favourite Stacey Yacula stamps, Cedar the Fox.  Even though our friend Cedar is a winter themed stamp, I find he can work for any occasion depending on how you colour him.  I did a birthday card for my Godson using some older Basic Grey papers.  The background was embossed in a chevron themed to add some dimension.  Sorry but this photo is a tad blurry.  I was in a hurry to get a photo before stuffing it in an envelope for the party LOL!

Supplies:
Stamps: Cedar the Fox from Purple Onion Designs, SA Doodleframe Cupcake set (sentiment) from Purple Onion Designs
Ink: Brown Distress Ink, Memento Tuxedo black
Papers: Basic Grey, Neenah white cardstock

Accessories: Spellbinder's die, white gel pen, Copic Markers, Darice embossing folder

For my project today I used the new Magically Delicious (clear) set to create this lucky looking card.  I embossed my background with a shamrock themed embossing folder and then used lots of different green papers and markers to keep with the theme.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Two for one on YNS's February Special event day

Hello strangers!  My blog has been a bit quiet for a few weeks --- I was off on vacation and totally ran out of time to schedule posts while I was away. I'm back and all refreshed after an amazing Disney Cruise (stayed tuned for layouts!!) and have a bunch of stuff to share with you.

Today is February special events day over on the YNS blog.  The design team is showing off "anything goes" creations so be sure to pop on over to see all their creations and leave a comment for your chance to win a stamp set of your choice!!

Since I was away for the February release blog hop this month I decided to use the new February Stamps for both of my creations.

First up is a kraft and pink creation I did with the new Dance Fhiona clear set and the Stripes and Stitching clear set.  I created my own chevron background by stamping on the kraft paper in sand toned ink.  Because the stamp is clear it is SUPER easy to line up the images.  I added a hint of pink gingham paper to pull the image and kraft together.  I accented my coloured image with my Viva Decor pearl paint pen.  It's hard to tell from the photo but it adds some nice dimension and pearl shine to the image.

Supplies:
Stamps: Dance Fhiona (clear) set from Your Next Stamp, Stripes and Stitching clear set from Your Next Stamp
Ink: Memento Desert Sand, Palette Noir, Memento Tuxedo Black, brown distress ink
Paper: Neenah cardstock, Bazzill cardstock, MME patterned paper, Making Memories kraft patterned paper
Accessories: The Twinery baker's twine, Copic Markers, lace, MFT scalloped edge die, Prima pearl, Viva Decor pearl pen

Next up is a card I created for this month's YNS Challenge on the blog.  Pop on over to see this month's sketch and inspiration photo and play along for your chance to win a fabulous prize.  For this card I used the new Tea-rific clear set and again went with a kraft background.

Supplies:
Stamps: Tea-rific clear set from Your Next Stamp
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, brown distress ink
Paper: Bazzill cardstock, Neenah white cardstock, MME patterned paper
Accessories: Copic Markers, Devine twine, YNS Gum drops embellishment

Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Holiday Joy layout

Hello friends!  I've been totally slacking in the blogging department lately but I do have a ton of projects to share with you that I finished before the holiday.  So be prepared for some cards and other Christmas projects in the next few posts.

This is a Christmas layout I did using the new This is December stamp set from Purple Onion Designs.  Although it looks like I did a ton of layers and paper tearing on this layout it`s actually all pre-printed on the paper (Basic Grey).  I did cut behind one of the layers on the paper and added a doily underneath.

Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Supplies:
Stamps:  This is December set from Purple Onion Designs, Date Me set from Purple Onion Designs, Deluxe labels set from Purple Onion Designs, Instant Film Frame from Purple Onion Designs
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo black, Adirondack green, Adirondack Red Pepper

The rest of the YNS design team has been digging through their pile of stamps and are all sharing their creations on the Your Next Stamp blog today.  Pop on over for some inspiration and dig out some of your older stamps!
